We have compiled the following list of clothing and other personal gear which, based on our experience, will help make your cruising experience more enjoyable.
We have compiled the following list of clothing and other personal gear which, based on our experience, will help make your cruising experience more enjoyable.
  • Soft luggage that will stow easily on board.
  • Suntan lotion.
  • Insect repellent lotion.
  • Hat or visor.
  • A long sleeved, light shirt for protection against the sun.
  • Sunglasses (at least one pair, but preferably two) - we recommend polarized lenses with Ultraviolet protection and keeper string or headband.
  • Camera.
  • Shirts, shorts and bathing suits.
  • Foul weather gear or a simple rain jacket.
  • Long sleeved, heavy shirt, sweater or sweatshirt. A pair of your favorite jeans or a sweatsuit are nice for cool weather cruising.
  • Dining is casual - no jackets required!.
  • One pair deck shoes, or tennis shoes with rubber or crepe soles - no black soles please.
  • One pair of "old tennies" or water shoes for beachcombing, shelling. etc.
  • Toiletries — a "shower bag" is great for taking to marina facilities.
  • Any prescription medications, special dietary food or drink, or other medical supplies.
  • Personal music selection - CD's or MP3 player. Check your yacht's inventory list.
  • Snorkeling gear (there is limited scuba diving in the local area).
  • Your own fishing gear, or you can purchase it locally.
  • We recommend leaving expensive jewelry at home.
